The Minister of Employment and Vocational Training on an interim basis, Mounouna Foutsou, chaired a strategic information and consultation meeting in Douala on August 28, 2026, bringing together business leaders, heads of training institutions and representatives of the Decentralised Territorial Communities (CTDs), in the GECAM Conference Room.

This initiative is part of the Special Plan for the Promotion of Youth Employment (PSPE-Jeunes) launched by the Head of State, H.E. Paul Biya. At the heart of the discussions were the implementation of the government schemes "ORFEV-Jeunes" and "JEME" (One Youth, One Trade, One Job), the regulation of foreign labour, skills transfer, and the introduction of tax incentives (tax credits, customs exemptions) to encourage workplace apprenticeships.

Calling for a synergy of action and the systematic creation of Municipal Employment Offices (BEM) within municipalities, the Minister reaffirmed the Government's commitment to making vocational training a lever for meeting the real needs of the Cameroonian economy.
